How to Create Manual Personalisation in Subliminator

Manual personalisation allows you to edit a specific order so that custom details are correctly applied only to that order. This helps prevent incorrect prints and ensures each customer receives the correct version of the product.

Important Rule Before You Start

Personalisation must always be done inside the order itself.

Do not edit products in the MY PRODUCTS section for personalization purposes. Editing there can affect all future orders and may cause incorrect print files to be used.

This happens because the same print file is shared across multiple orders. If it is edited after an order is placed, the system may not sync the new version to existing orders.

Correct Workflow for Manual Personalisation

1. Put the Order on Hold

Before making any changes, go to the Orders section and place the order on hold.

This ensures the order does not move forward into production while edits are being made.

2. Open the Order

Click on the order number (NR) that you want to personalise.

3. Find the Order

Scroll down inside the order page until you locate the specific order you want to edit.

4. Open the Editor

Click the edit icon next to the product.

This will open the Edit Designs pop up window showing all editable sections of the product.

5. Replace the Design Elements

In the Edit Designs window, select the section you want to personalise, such as a name or image

Click Replace Image to open the Design Library.

Select the new image or design you want to use.

6. Check Image Dimensions

Make sure the new image has the same dimensions as the original placeholder image.

If the new image is smaller, it may become stretched or distorted in the final print.

7. Save the Changes

Once you have completed the edits, save the updated design inside the order.

The new version will now be used for production for that specific order only.

Why Putting the Order on Hold Is Important

Holding the order ensures:

  • The order does not enter production before edits are completed

  • You have time to apply correct personalization

  • Reduced risk of incorrect prints being fulfilled

  • Better control over order accuracy

Common Mistake to Avoid

Do NOT do this:

  1. Publish a product

  2. Receive an order (for example SBL111)

  3. Edit the product inside MY PRODUCTS

  4. Send order to production

This can result in the original or outdated design being printed because the system may already have synced the previous version of the file.
