Deleting Images from Your Library

Understanding the Implications of Deleting Images

You can delete images from your Subliminator library to free up storage space. However, deleting an image that is being used by an existing product can also delete the associated product and prevent Subliminator from generating print files for future orders.

Before deleting an image, always check the warning that appears and make sure the image is no longer needed.

What happens when you delete an image?

If an image is being used by one or more products you've created, deleting the image can also result in those products being deleted from Subliminator.

This means that if a customer later places an order for one of those products, Subliminator may no longer be able to generate the required print files for fulfillment.

⚠️ Check the warning before deleting

When you try to delete an image that is currently being used by a product, Subliminator will display a warning before the deletion is completed.

For example:

This image is used in X product(s) that you've created. Deleting them will result in Subliminator deleting these products as well, where we will be unable to generate the print files for those products if you receive any orders for them.

The number of products shown in the warning will depend on how many of your existing products are using that image.

If the image is being used by products that you still sell or may receive orders for, do not delete the image.

Before deleting an image

Before confirming the deletion:

  1. Check whether the image is being used by any products.

  2. Review the number of products shown in the warning.

  3. Make sure you no longer need those products.

  4. If the products are still available for purchase, do not delete the image.

  5. Only proceed if you are certain that deleting the image and any associated products will not affect your existing or future orders.

How to delete an image

When you choose to delete an image from your library, Subliminator will display a confirmation window if the image is associated with products.

Review the warning carefully before proceeding.

If you are certain that you want to delete the image, follow the confirmation instructions shown in the deletion window.

Important: Deleting an image that is being used by a product may also delete the associated product.

What if I accidentally delete an image?

If you accidentally delete an image or an associated product, contact Subliminator Support as soon as possible and provide:

  • The name of the deleted image.

  • The affected product name or product ID, if available.

  • Your connected store.

  • Any relevant screenshots or order information.

Support can then review the situation and advise you on the available options.

Frequently asked questions

Can I delete images to free up storage space?

Yes. You can delete images you no longer need. However, only delete images that are not being used by products you still need to sell or fulfill.

Will deleting an image affect my existing products?

It can. If the image is being used by an existing product, deleting the image may also delete the associated product from Subliminator.

What happens if a customer orders a product after its image has been deleted?

If the associated product has also been deleted, Subliminator may not be able to generate the print files required to fulfill the order.

How do I know if an image is being used?

When you attempt to delete an image, Subliminator will display a warning if the image is currently being used by products. Always review this warning before confirming the deletion.

Important

Deleting an image can have consequences beyond removing the image from your library.

If you are unsure whether an image is safe to delete, do not confirm the deletion until you have checked which products are using it.
